Very happy to try this place out. It's a place the chef really studies on food and you can feel every single dish has his effort and knowledge in it. We had a Mediterranean feast and it was $75 per person for a 5 courses dinner. I think the appetizers are really amazing. The hummus & pita and hamachi fish are so good! The squid ink pasta is good too. I really like how the chef uses herbs. The sword fish is juicy even though it's a really difficult fish to make it delicious. The service here is amazing. My husband loved this experience. I'm not a Mediterranean food fan, but I also enjoyed.
So there is a lot to digest with this place. Don't really like the trendy places because I am always disappointed... having said that... this place is different. In a great way. The Staff was amazing! Food was good. Drinks were strong and great. Overall score 8.5 again, that score had to do more with the brilliant staff they have. The octopus is the best in SD. That was amazing. Best part of dinner.
I was blessed with the chance to get a reservation and have the set 5-course sample menu option. Everything was beyond amazing for food. The octopus stood out to me, while normally chewy, this melted in the mouth and was delicious. The cocktails and wine pairings were all spot on. The beef tartar was great. The passionfruit and Turkish rice desserts were both good. Only lost one star on the atmosphere because it was loud, we had a group of 6 people and i could only hear the person directly next to me talking. But the waitstaff, service, and food was amazing.
We were underwhelmed. Our appetizer was delicious. We had whipped burrata with crispy focaccia. And the warm chocolate chip cookie with fig leaf ice cream was made the restaurant worth the visit. But the entrees and vegetables were so salty as to be inedible. I had the chicken and my son had the gnocchi that was on the special menu. The waiter asked whether we wanted a box for all of the food that was left but didn’t ask how everything was so we had no opportunity to tell him. He had a “can’t be bothered attitude. But the rest of the staff was wonderful. Also the atmosphere was very nice.
I really wanted to LOVE this place and took a very late seating, as that was the only available time, and I was only in town for a few nights. We were left sitting for about 15 minutes after our server said she'd give us a "few minutes" while we looked over the drink menu. We had a 930pm reservation and were already hungry so 15 minutes seemed like eternity! We put in our drink orders as well as a full food order. Our appetizers arrived quickly and not longer after, our server came by and informed us that the kitchen was closing soon and asked if we wanted to put in any more orders for hot items. Huh? How would we know if we had ordered enough food or if we wanted more if we had only started receiving our dishes - 3 appetizers out of 9 items?!!? We declined and enjoyed the rest of the dishes, which came to the table in good timing. Some of the items were a little heavy on the salt but overall, we enjoyed them, especially the duck and kurobuta sausage ragu over pappardelle, the chilled broccolini, the lamb merguez dolmas, and the hanger steak! We did feel a little rushed at the end when our server informed us that it was last call for desserts while we were still eating our main courses. I would like to come back and try some other dishes. Maybe get bar seats instead :) #barseatsarethebestseats
Easily in my top 3 dining experiences so far in my life.
Reservations
First of all, book your reservations in advance. Callie fills up quickly.
Atmosphere
Elegant but not pretentious. Perfect place for a date.
Service
Excellent. The type of place that folds your napkin if you get up and go to the bathroom. Our forks also got switched out several times throughout the meal, like a silverware palate cleanser.
Food
We both got the Mediterranean feast and it was exactly that - a feast. We also got drinks, which were unique and delicious. Back to the feast, it was 5 courses. It looks like they change it every now and then, but we had: pita and various dips, yellowtail, gnocchi, tuna steak with salad, and finally a nice tart lemon curd. Everything was an experience, but I particularly loved the tuna. It was the best cooked fish I’ve ever had.
Price
You probably already know what you’re getting into, and it’s worth it.

Wife decided to surprise me with dinner to celebrate my birthday, we both been wanting to visit this restaurant due to their highly recognitions. We felt unwelcome as soon as we check in with the hostess, no hello, no welcome. Just a stare and a “do you have a reservation?” We proceeded and waited aside for our table to be ready. Once we were seated hostess remind us about their restaurant policy regarding the 20% gratuity charge plus a 4% surcharge. I’m sorry but if customers are paying 24% extra on top of their bill customer service has to be above excellent. First they expect customers to assort their own silverware. Then waitress is nowhere to being seen, the busboy was more of a help cleaning our table and ordering drinks. As we were walking out the restaurant we both notice other groups with personalized notes and desserts with candles to celebrate their birthday. We only got a verbal happy birthday and no thank you have a good day while walking out the door. Food was good but not excellent, unfortunately the service ruined our night. Won’t be back
A must try while in San Diego! We were lucky enough to have Kevin as our waiter and he really made the experience unforgettable. The atmosphere inside is the perfect setting for the incredible food. I’ve been to multiple Michelin Star restaurants, along with some top places in Europe and Central America and this was the only place that made me think I need other people to know how good it is.
